Water Plus is Britain’s largest business water supplier, serving over 360,000 customers with excellent service.
Water Plus is the default water retailer for businesses in the United Utilities and Severn Trent regions, meaning most businesses in these areas have their water services managed by Water Plus unless they’ve chosen to switch.
Since water market deregulation, businesses have been able to choose their water retailer. However, most businesses have not taken advantage of this opportunity and continue to be supplied by their default supplier.
While staying with your default retailer is convenient, it isn’t cost-effective. Most businesses can make significant savings by switching business water supplier.

Water Plus offers different tariff options for businesses. Whether you want standard rates, a fixed-term deal, or an environmentally conscious option, there’s a tariff to suit your needs.
Businesses that haven’t chosen a tariff are placed on the default business water tariff. This provides standard pricing but may be higher than fixed contract rates. Customers can switch at any time to a better deal.
A fixed contract secures a set retail fee for the duration of the agreement, helping businesses manage costs. However, the wholesale element of the bill, which the regional water companies set, is reviewed annually and may increase or decrease on April 1st each year.
The Greener Fix tariff offers the same benefits as a fixed contract but with added water efficiency support that isn’t included in a standard fixed contract. All bills are paperless, reducing environmental impact, and Direct Debit makes payments for simpler account management.
Water Plus fixed contracts come with specific terms around payments, credit checks, and what happens at the end of your agreement. Understanding these key features can help businesses manage their account smoothly and avoid unexpected charges.
All payments must be made by Direct Debit, with amounts collected 14 days after the bill is issued. If a Direct Debit fails or is cancelled, Water Plus reserves the right to remove any Direct Debit discount, where applicable.
At least 30 days before the contract ends, Water Plus will send a renewal notice with details of available options. If no new contract is agreed upon, the business will be moved to the Standard Variable Tariff, which may change over time.
Water Plus may conduct credit checks at the start of or during the contract. Sometimes, businesses may be required to pay a security deposit. This deposit can be used to cover any outstanding charges if necessary.
